REWIND 巻き戻し

VIEW BY

Rewind 巻き戻し is the 5C5V line about the machines a generation grew up with in Japan in the 80s and 90s. The portable cassette player and its five chunky buttons. The pager you sent numbers to from a phone box. The TV that closed down at half two and went to static. The game cartridge you blew into before it would start.

Every device on these pieces is drawn from scratch. There are no real brands here, just the shapes, the buttons and the words. The Japanese is real and it all means something: 再生 (saisei) is the play button and also the word for rebirth, B面 (bī-men) is the B-side, where the songs nobody promoted lived, and 4649 is how teenagers said よろしく (yoroshiku) on a pager.

T-shirts, long sleeves, heavyweight hoodies and jumpers, embroidered on the chest and printed on the back. Every piece is made to order.
