A matchbox label for an invented ジャズ喫茶 (jazu kissa, jazz café) in Noge, Yokohama: mustard yellow, a lacquer-red gramophone horn under a few stars, JAZZ & COFFEE, a big 信 with SHIN · 横浜 · 野毛, and the line 百枚のレコードと、一台の蓄音機。 (a hundred records and one gramophone). Under it runs the striker strip with 火の用心 · BEWARE OF FIRE. Printed on the back of a soft garment-dyed tee in espresso, with a mini 信 matchbox on the left chest.
Jazz kissa were cafés where you went to listen, not to talk. One of Japan's first opened in Noge in 1933, when a 20-year-old started it with about a hundred 78s and an old gramophone. Kissa like it handed out their own printed matchboxes, so customers carried the name home in their pockets.

Good to know
What is a jazz kissa? A ジャズ喫茶 is a Japanese café built around a record collection and a good sound system. You order a coffee, the owner plays the records, and people mostly sit and listen.
What does 火の用心 mean? Beware of fire. Shōwa-era matchboxes often printed it on the striker strip. 信 (shin, trust) is Yokohama's virtue in the 5C5V five cities, and the café on the label is ours.
How does it fit? Relaxed and a little roomy. Take your usual size. The model is 178 cm (5′10″) and wears M.
