The pastel summer of late-80s Japanese city pop record sleeves: a resort pool, a palm, a pink apartment block and a boombox on the tiles, captioned 1987 夏 (natsu, summer) and REWIND side A. Printed big on the back of a heavyweight box tee, with a small 1987 夏 mark on the left chest.

City pop was the glossy Japanese pop of the bubble years, all summer drives and night cities, and its sleeves looked like holidays you never took.
