力 (chikara) means strength. On the Osaka Chikara Fude Edition Snapback it is written with the fude, the Japanese calligraphy brush, in a single confident stroke, then embroidered in white, set low and centred just above the flat brim. A nod to Osaka's relentless, never-quit spirit.
Why is the Fude Edition flat-stitched? The rest of Cities & Virtues is raised 3D puff, but a brushstroke lives in its tapers: the fine flick where the brush lifts off the paper. Puff foam can't hold a line that thin, so this one is stitched flat to keep every taper of the brush, exactly as it was written.
The Black and Navy Blue are made from an 85% acrylic, 15% wool blend: a structured, high-profile six-panel crown that holds its shape through every season, finished with a grey undervisor. The Royal Blue is made on a different cap, a classic 80% acrylic, 20% wool snapback with a green undervisor. Same shape, same brush 力, stitched in the same place.
Details & care
One size fits most, with an adjustable plastic snap closure. Structured, high-profile 6-panel crown with a flat brim. Brush-script kanji 力 (chikara, strength) on the front in flat white embroidery. Available in Black, Navy Blue and Royal Blue.
- Black and Navy Blue: 85% acrylic, 15% wool, grey undervisor, head circumference 22″–24″ (55–60 cm).
- Royal Blue: 80% acrylic, 20% wool, green undervisor, 6 embroidered eyelets, head circumference 21⅝″–23⅝″ (55–60 cm).
To keep the embroidery sharp and the fabric fresh, spot clean or hand wash in cold water only. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, bleach, or iron directly over the embroidery. Reshape while damp and air dry flat away from direct sunlight. Handle it right and it handles everything else.

Covered by a 2-year warranty. You have 30 days from delivery to return or exchange unworn, unwashed items in their original condition, and any defect or printing problem is always on us. To start a return, email matthew@5c5v.co.uk with your order number.
