Yose 寄席 were the variety halls of Edo-period Japan, where crowds packed in for rakugo storytellers. The posters outside were painted in yose-moji, heavy lettering drawn so thick and tight there's barely a gap between strokes, for a full house with no empty seats. This is No. 3 of our five Yose tees: Kyoto and its virtue, 和 Harmony.

On the front, 和 sits large with 京都 (Kyoto) underneath, inside a framed hall poster with a border of sakura blossom, from our Kyoto crest. Down the back, キョート (Kyoto in katakana) runs top to bottom in a tall panel, with 其ノ参 · 五都五徳 · 5C5V underneath: No. 3 of Five Cities, Five Virtues. A cream panel with deep green lettering on a garment-dyed moss green shirt. Made to order, sizes S to 4XL.

Fit note: A regular, relaxed fit: a little closer than our boxy oversized tees. Take your usual size.

Machine wash cold, inside out, with similar colours. Do not bleach. Hang or lay flat to dry and never iron directly over the print.
