5C5V Originals AW (元) Japanese Beanie – Baby Pink · Royal Blue

The Originals line is built on the 5C5V mark itself: blocky 5C5V letters with Mt Fuji and a rising sun set into the C. 5C5V stands for Five Cities, Five Virtues (Sapporo 希 Hope, Tokyo 夢 Dream, Kyoto 和 Harmony, Osaka 力 Strength and Yokohama 信 Trust), and Fuji sits in the middle of it because on a clear day you can see it from Tokyo and Yokohama. It's stitched in a single thread with the sun and the slopes of Fuji left as cut-outs, so the knit shows through. That's the logo exactly as it was drawn, nothing added.

Made from 100% Turbo Acrylic, it's soft, warm and hypoallergenic, with enough stretch in the rib knit to sit snug without squeezing. Wear the cuff folded for the clean look, or pull it out for a little slouch. Available in Baby Pink and Royal Blue. Made to order.

What does 5C5V stand for? Five Cities, Five Virtues: Sapporo 希 Hope, Tokyo 夢 Dream, Kyoto 和 Harmony, Osaka 力 Strength and Yokohama 信 Trust. The Originals line carries the 5C5V logo itself.

What does 元 in the name mean? 元 (moto) means origin, where something starts. It's the first kanji of 元祖, the word Japanese shops put on the sign to say they're the original. The Originals are where 5C5V starts: the logo itself.

Is the logo printed or embroidered? Embroidered, in one thread (black on Baby Pink, white on Royal Blue), about 4.5″ (11.4 cm) wide across the cuff. The rising sun and Mt Fuji are cut-outs, so the knit shows through.

How does it fit? One size fits most. The rib knit stretches to fit and it's 12″ (30 cm) long, so you can wear it cuffed or slouched.

How do I look after it? Hand wash cold and lay flat to dry. Don't tumble dry, bleach or iron over the embroidery.

When will it arrive? It's made for you after you order: 2–5 business days to make, then 2–6 business days for UK delivery or 4–8 business days for the US.

Do you ship to the US? Yes. US shipping is $5.95 flat per order, however many items are in it, and takes 4–8 business days after your beanie is made. It's made and shipped from inside the US, so there are no import duties or customs charges to pay.

Can I return it from the US? Yes. Wherever you ordered from, you have 30 days from delivery to send back unworn, unwashed items. Swapping for a different size is no problem at all. Email matthew@5c5v.co.uk with your order number and we'll send you the return address and help with the rest. We just ask that you cover the return postage. A fault or embroidery problem is always on us.

• USA: 4–8 business days, $5.95 flat per order however many items you buy. Made and shipped inside the US, so no import duties
• EU: 2–6 business days, £3.95, free express on orders over £100

Covered by a 2-year warranty. Wherever you ordered from, UK, US or EU, you have 30 days from delivery to return or exchange unworn, unwashed items in their original condition, and any defect or embroidery problem is always on us.
