A sumo 手形 (tegata), the signed handprint a wrestler gives to fans: a big red hand pressed onto a cream shikishi board with a gold edge, the ring name 五都山 (Gotoyama) brushed down the side, 大阪場所 (Osaka tournament) in the corner and a red 力 seal. The hollow in the middle of the palm is left bare, the way a real print comes out. Printed big on the back of a black heavyweight box tee, with a mini tegata on the left chest.
Every March the grand sumo tournament comes to Osaka. Wrestlers press their palms in ink and sign tegata for supporters, and fans still hold their own hand up against one to see how they measure up. Osaka's other SHŌWA tee comes from the Shinnō Festival, where a shrine gives out paper tigers every November.

Good to know
What is a tegata? A sumo wrestler's handprint, pressed in ink on a square shikishi board and signed with his ring name. Wrestlers make them for fans and supporters, and people collect them all over Japan.
Is 五都山 a real wrestler? No. 五都山 (Gotoyama, Five Cities Mountain) is our own ring name, made up for this design. 力 (chikara, strength) is Osaka's virtue in the 5C5V five cities.
How does it fit? Boxy and oversized. If you want a closer fit, go a size down. The model is 185 cm (6′1″) and wears L for the oversized look.
Every piece is printed for you when you order. It takes 2–5 business days to make, then 2–6 business days for UK delivery.

Covered by a 2-year warranty. Wherever you ordered from, you have 30 days from delivery to return or exchange unworn, unwashed items in their original condition, and any defect or print or embroidery problem is always on us. Need a different size? That's no problem at all. Email matthew@5c5v.co.uk with your order number and we'll send you the return address. We just ask that you cover the return postage. Pieces you design yourself in Studio or KŌBŌ are made just for you, so they can only come back if faulty.
