Our box tee is cut from 100% combed ring-spun cotton at 7 oz./yd.² (237 g/m²), so it has real weight to it. It's oversized and boxy, with dropped shoulders and a ribbed collar on a reinforced neckline.
In 80s Japan, a personal cassette player was sold as a ヘッドホンステレオ (heddohon sutereo, "headphone stereo"). We invented our own, the 5C-5V, and drew it the way an 80s product catalogue would.
The back is the catalogue page. There's an isometric drawing of a red cassette player with its headphones, and numbered callouts under the heading 各部の名称 (kakubu no meishō, "names of parts"): rewind, stop, play, fast-forward, record, cassette window, nameplate, volume, headphone jack and headphones, each labelled in Japanese. The spec table lists MODEL 5C-5V, a frequency response of 40–15,000 Hz, NORMAL, HIGH and METAL tape, and compatibility with 五都 (goto, five cities). The footer reads 5C5V, 巻き戻し (makimodoshi, rewind) REWIND, MADE TO PLAY.
A small 5C-5V wordmark sits on the chest. Black, Navy or Vintage Black. Made to order, sizes S to 4XL.
Good to know
What is on the back? A full catalogue page for the 5C-5V: an isometric red cassette player and headphones, ten numbered part labels and a spec table.
What does the Japanese mean? ヘッドホンステレオ (heddohon sutereo) means headphone stereo, the old Japanese catalogue term for a personal cassette player. The labels name each part, so 再生 (saisei) is play, 停止 (teishi) is stop and 録音 (rokuon) is record.
Is the 5C-5V a real player? No. It's our own invention, drawn in the style of an 80s catalogue page.
How does it fit? Oversized and boxy with dropped shoulders. Take your usual size for the relaxed look, or size down for a closer fit.
Is this a one-off drop? No. It's part of the REWIND collection and stays available.
When will it arrive? It's made for you after you order: 2–5 business days to make, then 2–6 business days for UK delivery.

Each piece is made to order, created especially for you once your order is placed. This helps reduce overproduction and waste.
Production takes 2–5 business days. UK delivery then typically takes 2–6 business days (£3.95, or free on orders over £100). Worldwide shipping is available, and full times and costs are on our Shipping page.
Every 5C5V piece is covered by a 2-year quality warranty: if it faults, we repair or replace it. If it isn't right for you, you have 30 days from delivery to return or exchange it, provided it's unworn, unwashed and in its original condition. To start a return, email matthew@5c5v.co.uk with your order number.
Each piece is made to order, created for you once your order is placed. That keeps overproduction and waste down.

Covered by a 2-year warranty. Wherever you ordered from, you have 30 days from delivery to return or exchange unworn, unwashed items in their original condition, and any defect or print or embroidery problem is always on us. Need a different size? That's no problem at all. Email matthew@5c5v.co.uk with your order number and we'll send you the return address. We just ask that you cover the return postage. Pieces you design yourself in Studio or KŌBŌ are made just for you, so they can only come back if faulty.
