The menu card from the counter of 五都軒, an invented Sapporo ramen shop founded in Shōwa 30 (1955). A red noren across the top, a red donburi with the thunder-pattern band and the shop's name, miso broth with a pat of butter and sweetcorn, noodles lifted on chopsticks and 味噌らーめん in brush lettering. Down the side: 冬は、味噌。 Printed big on the back of a navy heavyweight box tee, with the shop's mini noren on the left chest.
Sapporo gave Japan miso ramen in the mid-1950s, when a small shop called Aji no Sanpei started serving noodles in a miso broth. Butter and corn became the Sapporo way to top it. In a city that spends months under snow, it's the bowl everyone goes back to.

What does 冬は、味噌。 mean? Winter means miso. 五都軒 (Gotoken) is our own invented shop, and 希 (ki, hope) on the seal is Sapporo's virtue in the 5C5V five cities.
What is a noren? The split fabric curtain hung over a shop doorway in Japan. When the noren is out, the shop is open.
How does it fit? Boxy and oversized. If you want a closer fit, go a size down. The model is 180 cm (5′11″) and wears L for the oversized look.
Every piece is printed for you when you order. It takes 2–5 business days to make, then 2–6 business days for UK delivery.

- USA: 3–6 business days, $5.95 flat per order, free on orders over $75. Made and shipped inside the US, so no import duties
- EU: 2–6 business days, £3.95, free express on orders over £100

Covered by a 2-year warranty. Wherever you ordered from, you have 30 days from delivery to return or exchange unworn, unwashed items in their original condition, and any defect or print or embroidery problem is always on us. Need a different size? That's no problem at all. Email matthew@5c5v.co.uk with your order number and we'll send you the return address. We just ask that you cover the return postage. Pieces you design yourself in Studio or KŌBŌ are made just for you, so they can only come back if faulty.
