KIROKU Sumi 003 — In Harmony, Not the Same 和 Vintage White T-Shirt

Record 003 from KIROKU 記録 is Kyoto, and Kyoto's virtue is 和, Harmony. Walk down an old Kyoto street and the townhouses, the machiya, all wear the same wooden lattice, the kyō-gōshi. But look closer and no two are alike. The pattern of long and short slats once told you the trade inside: a thread merchant, a rice dealer, a charcoal seller. The same street, every house its own.

The back is a Kyoto shopfront painted in sumi ink, every slat of the lattice its own brushstroke, with a sage noren marked 和 and 君子は和して同ぜず: the wise live in harmony, not in sameness. 京都 and the 和 seal sit on the left chest.

Fit note: oversized and boxy with dropped shoulders. If you prefer a closer fit, size down.
