KIROKU Sumi 002 — People are the Castle 力 Vintage White T-Shirt

Record 002 from KIROKU 記録 is Osaka, and Osaka's virtue is 力, Strength. Inside the Sakuramon gate of Osaka Castle sits the Takoishi 蛸石, the "octopus stone", the largest stone in the castle walls: one slab of granite 5.5 metres high and 11.7 metres wide, roughly 108 tonnes (some sources say 130). It was set in place in 1624 by Ikeda Tadao, when the Tokugawa rebuilt the castle. No stone that size moves itself. It took thousands of people.

The back is the Takoishi painted as one huge brushstroke, an ember sun behind it, its reflection in the moat and a lone figure for scale, with 人は城 人は石垣 人は堀: people are the castle, the stone walls, the moat. 大阪 and the 力 seal sit on the left chest.

Fit note: oversized and boxy with dropped shoulders. If you prefer a closer fit, size down.

Care Instructions:

Machine wash cold, inside out, with similar colours. Do not bleach. Hang or lay flat to dry and never iron directly over the print.
