KIROKU Sumi 001 — Letters from Heaven 希 White T-Shirt

Record 001 from KIROKU 記録 is Sapporo, and Sapporo's virtue is 希, Hope. On 12 March 1936, in a cold room at Hokkaido Imperial University, the physicist Ukichiro Nakaya grew the first artificial snow crystal. He hung a single rabbit hair in the cold and let the ice build on it, because a rabbit hair has just enough tiny knots for a crystal to start. He spent years reading crystals like that and later wrote the line he is remembered for: snow is a letter sent from heaven.

The back is a snow crystal painted in sumi ink on Nakaya's rabbit hair, with ice-blue wind, falling snow and his line 雪は天から送られた手紙である: snow is a letter sent from heaven. 札幌 and the 希 seal sit on the left chest.

Fit note: oversized and boxy with dropped shoulders. If you prefer a closer fit, size down.

Care Instructions:

Machine wash cold, inside out, with similar colours. Do not bleach. Hang or lay flat to dry and never iron directly over the print.
