American boards read B-S-O, balls first. For decades Japan's read S-B-O, strikes first, and the lamps were always yellow for strikes, green for balls and red for outs. Japan switched to the international order around 2010, so this is the old board, the one a generation of fans stared at with the count full and two out. Only people who know Japanese baseball will notice the order. That's the point. 力 (chikara) means strength, Osaka's virtue in Five Cities, Five Virtues.
