Inside the Sakuramon gate of Osaka Castle sits the Takoishi 蛸石, the \"octopus stone\", the largest stone in the castle walls: one slab of granite 5.5 metres high and 11.7 metres wide, roughly 108 tonnes (some sources say 130). It was set in place in 1624 by Ikeda Tadao, when the Tokugawa rebuilt the castle. No stone that size moves itself.
